Baby Chicks: Blue Splash Marans Female Reviews

4.7 Rating 208 Reviews
My favorite of the flock! She is so sweet, soft, and friendly. Super quiet - only makes little cooing noises and is always happy to see me. Eggs are light, not any darker than my Rhode Island Red - but sometimes have amazing speckles. Her personality makes up from any disappointment about the egg color for sure!

Our Splash Marans is a big, sweet, fluffy beauty! She loves to be picked up and held, and she lays lovely darker brown eggs.

My six year old son bonded right away with this chick and named her Cutie Pie. She was friendly from the beginning...would run and leap into his hand! Now, she's grown and absolutely gorgeous. She has the calmest temperament. Loves cuddles. Gets a little bullied but she is big enough that it doesn't bother her much. She wants for my son to get off the bus with me most days. Super chill and sweet.

Beautiful soft feathers and splash color! This breed is one of my favorites. I ordered 16 chicks and 2 of them are blue splash marans. They are pretty docile and gentle! One of them has a short comb and the other one a longer comb but is a hen not a rooster!

My very favorite chicken!!! She’s always been middle of the pecking order. She was friendly from day 1. She’s always let me hold her and now jumps in my lap anytime I’m outside. She makes the cutes “coo” noises and chicken purrs. I adore her. It about 95 degrees out this month. She’s been laying for about a week and is almost 6 months old. The eggs are a medium Brown so far but I’ve been told they will darken when it’s not so hot. She’s laid 6 eggs in the last 8 days. This was my first time getting chicks and raising chickens. The next time I get chicks I will definitely get more of this breed!

The ducks themselves are really beautiful. We had 50% loss on our first order of ducks, which they replaced.
