I am a little disappointed with my last order from MyPetChicken. I have ordered many times over the last 13 years and have always had a good experience, not so much this time. I ordered 2 leghorn hens, 2 golden buff hens, 4 green queen Easter Egger hens and one green queen Easter Egger rooster. One of the leghorns died at 6 weeks, not sure what happened with that, as I have never had that happen before. After 4 + months of feeding and raising them through winter in the northeast, I have 3 roosters and only 5 hens. Out of the 4 green queen Easter Egger hens, I ended up with one all white one and the other one is not a green queen but I believe a legbar because it has had a weird puff on top of it's head. She is a sweetheart but is taking a beating from the others because she is so small compared to them, especially the roosters. Now I have to figure out what I am going to do with extra roosters and I am down 3 hens that I wanted. I am not sure that I will pay extra for designer birds in the future. I have had many different easter Eggers over the years and I like them because they are interesting looking, good layers and are heat and cold tolerant but none of them have ever been overly friendly. The friendliest birds in my experience have always been the barred rocks and red stars(golden buffs). I have had a couple of those breeds that have not been very nice but most of the time, they are the sweetest and the australorps are always very sweet too but tend to be kind of loud and broody. I will probably get my chicks from Tractor Supply in the future, at least I won't have to pay so much for them because of the shipping. Not to mentions finding out later they are not what I thought they would be. Two of the roosters are quite striking looking, very colorful but I am really more interested in the eggs as that is the main reason I raise chickens.

We appreciate you taking the time to express concerns over your recent order. We are sorry to hear that you may have received 2 sexing errors in your recent order. Vent sexing of day old chicks is not without any margin of error and industrywide the agreed upon standard is that hatcheries will be about 90 accurate. MyPetChicken's customer forward policies guarantee that you will receive the sex that you ordered or be refunded when you have reported the errors to us within the allowed reporting window for your order which I am happy to tell you have done. We will be reaching out to you about the refund. Additionally I am so sorry for the loss of your White Leghorn Pullet and we will be reaching out to if you wish to provide us more details. We're always here for help and support. Lastly we will gladly address your concern that you have a wrong breed. While Green Queens can be white in color and crested we want to make sure that you received the breed that you ordered. An agent will be reaching out to you shortly.

Beautiful silver grey bird, lovely personality. Only downside - lays brown eggs Based on the reviews it seems more than just a small percentage lay brown eggs :/

We're thrilled to learn that your Green Queen is not only beautiful but also friendly, and we truly appreciate your feedback regarding the egg color disappointment. It's important to understand that with hybrids like the Green Queen, there's a possibility of brown eggs due to the inclusion of a breed that typically lays eggs of that color. This variance in egg color is indeed a trade-off inherent in such crosses, where certain breed characteristics blend together to create a unique and often unpredictable result. We hope that despite this, you continue to enjoy the delightful attributes of your Green Queen and appreciate the diversity it brings to your flock.

I am extremely happy with these babies! This is only my 3rd time raising chicks but the ones I ordered are already stronger and healthy than any I have raised before. I am very excited to see how they are when adults, but so far each is very affectionate and energetic! When the time comes to order more I will absolutely be using mypetchicken again.

Well, I pulled the short straw because our Green Queen lays brown eggs. She is reddish brown with a muff, is a bit of a bully, and is a large, heavy chicken. Obviously a little disappointed but we know that genetics happen, and it is what it is. Three stars just because she's not particularly friendly, not particularly pretty, and eggs are on the smaller side and boring. We do have a bunch of brown egg layers that we LOVE, and a few easter eggers that all seem to have the same...questionable personalities.

Thank you for taking the time to review our Green Queen Easter Eggers. We are sorry to hear that her personality is such a disappointment. Although Green Queens are noted to generally be friendlier than regular Easter Eggers, each bird is still an individual! Her brown egg may not change color, but as she continues to mature, she will more than likely start gradually laying larger eggs.

All five of our chicks came in happy and healthy. Our flock is about 1 year old now and they are thriving. Our green queen, Clover, is our best egg-layer. She consistently gives us 1 beautiful, big green egg a day. She is super friendly, like all of our flock, and loves humans. With the other chickens, she is second in the pecking order and gets along great with them. Clover is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. She does not have a beard, but she is so much prettier than all of the photos. She is definitely our prettiest bird in the flock. We are all really happy with her.

Beautiful chickens, however, SUPER DISSAPPOINTED as they are not laying green eggs, which is the sole reason I ordered them. :(

Ordered 6 female chicks total and 2 Queen Easter Eggers. They all came alive and peeping one Green Queen Easter Egger was a bit week but a little yolk got her going and now Meatball has never looked back and is the biggest of the lot! Love them, thank you, into week 10 and all are alive and thriving!
