4.5 Rating 174 Reviews
Have 3 green queens - one is gray( has 5 toes) and the other 2 are white with patches of golden feathers - all 3 beautiful, big and healthy. One has been a little broody. They are laying small olive green eggs.

She's big and friendly. Easter Eggers are my favorite breed so I figured I'd give this one a try even though it's pricier than other EEs. She lays a nice, minty egg and is one of my daughters' faves. They named her Sunshine for her sunny personality!

We ordered just one green queen and she grew into an absolutely beautiful bird. She gave us light brown eggs and had a lovely personality. Unfortunately, she really seemed to struggle with the summer heat and we lost her last week while she was in one of the nesting boxes. I am not sure that this breed is ideal where heat and humidity are an issue as she seemed to pant way more than our 17 others that include Marans, Buff Orpington, Wyandottes, Barred Plymouth Rocks, a Speckled Sussex and a Swedish Flower Hen. We have had a 100% survival rate up to this point and feel that this breed can’t handle high temperatures. We have ventilation on our coop and run two box fans on hot days with plenty of fresh water available at all times, do”so itvwas devastating to lose her.

My Green Queen has turned out to be my most beautiful chicken aside from my roosters - she is gray, white, orange and black, just a beautiful, sweet, healthy bird. I know they can look fairly different from one another, but holy moly! I won the chick lottery - she's lovely. Can't wait to see her eggs!

I know the hatchery is going to make this right as they have been great to work with before, but my Green Queen turned out to be a Green King and due to also having a cross beak, after 12 weeks we couldn't let him go to greener psatures and have to choose the rainbow bridge. Heartbreaking. So while all the other breeds we have had from here are amazing, just be aware.

I got 2 green queens, one was added to my order accidentally so I didnt call to report that it arrived with a severe scissor beak defect. It was a very spunky chicken with definite will to live, unfortunately it just wasnt getting enough to eat. When it wasnt “eating” it was crying and running around the brooder in very fast circles. It died at 2.5 weeks old. It was sad for me to receive such an unhealthy chick. The other green queen however is so healthy and ENORMOUS! By far the bigges chick out of a dozen assortment inclusing EE, olive eggers, etc. This was the first time in years that I received an unhealthy chick from mypetchicken... still my favorite!
