“I ordered 2 green eggers but they lay cream eggs colors! I know there is a 5 percent that they won‚Äôt lay green eggs but in my case both of them did not lay green eggs. They are healthy and pretty though but not friendly.”
“I bought two Green Queen chicks. Sally has a floppy comb and pretty gray feathers, and Darrell has a muff and the biggest, floofiest butt. They are both darlings. Darrell is extra friendly, and will take mealworms from my hand without nipping. They lay very pale aqua eggs.”
“I ordered 2 of these chicks in December specifically because I wanted green eggs. I was pleased to receive chicks that did not look alike in color. They were, and still are, quite healthy. One of them is very pretty. However, they both lay BROWN EGGS, and are some of the least friendly chickens that I have ever owned. They freak out if I pick them up and scream like they are being murdered. (I had several other chicks in the same order, of different breeds, and all of the others are quite easy to handle.) I'm aware that the listing states there is a "small chance" they will not lay green eggs, but I wish MPC would specify what those odds are. In my case it was 100%. I definitely will not purchase this breed ever again. :(”
“My green queen, hen solo, is a beautiful bird. All black with a green iridescence and 5 toes. Of all my birds (marans and Easter eggers) she is the most standoffish but she was the first to start laying.”
“I got a Green Queen last May and she is one of our favorites. She's a big fluffy girl with feathered legs and she lays beautiful darker green eggs. She's very chatty and friendly too.”
“Started a small flock of 9 last year. Bought 2 Orpingtons, 2 Maran's and 5 different kinds. I did buy a Green Queen. She was a little testy in the beginning and earned the name Karen ( sorry all of you nice Karen's out there) So Karen does not lay green eggs which disappointed me I was so hoping for green or blue. Karen gives me a tan/pinkish egg every morning and her disposition has improved and she is quiet sweet. I have never had so much fun sitting and just watching these girls. We love them all.”
“Bunny is our top chicken, keeps the other hens in line, but not in a mean way. She started laying in December at 5 months old and lays about 6 large peach colored eggs a week. So not green, but an overall good layer with an ok personality- not too friendly but not super skittish.”
“This little bird is a spitfire! Always scratching, exploring, eager to start the day. We love her and she's not afraid of people at all. She lays very very well too.
The only reason I dropped a star is because we got that small percentile that doesn't lay green or blue eggs. It's a very light tan color. I really wanted green eggs and can only manage a small flock now, so it was a bit of a bummer.”
