NX9 SLOPE RANGEFINDER Reviews

4.7 Rating 1,026 Reviews
This is not a review yet. My wife gave this to me for Christmas and I have not had a chance to try it out. In looking it over and setting it up in my yard I think it is going to work out very well shortly when I get on the course. Which will probably be in 2 to 3 weeks. I would be happy to write a review at that time.

Used for the first time, on Pebble Beach, and had several instances where it gave a reading of 18 yards when it was more like 150-180. It may have been because I was facing towards (but NOT into) the sun. And the conditions weren't clear blue skies, so this issue is even more troubling. This made me revert to my Bushnell GPS device. So I was playing one of the most iconic courses in the world and I couldn't fully rely on the rangefinder...not good!

Have not had a chance to actually use Precision Pro as of yet. Weather in Western PA not conducive to playing. Contact me next Spring. excited to use it.

Very easy to use and the slope function is very helpful especially when playing an unfamiliar course.

First of all, this range finder is a good value but a few minor issues keep it from being great. The unit seems to be very sensitive to fog. If it isn’t absolutely clear/dry the range finder always reads 15 yards. Playing partners with other brands don’t have this problem. Fortunately, I can ask them for their results when we’re on the tee box of a par 3. Otherwise, I have to defer to GPS. The magnet is a nice feature but it’s on the wrong side for right handed players. The magnetic side faces your right palm so you have to place it on metal surfaces with your left hand. I rarely use this feature since I walk most of my rounds. Lastly, the loop that holds the D-ring on the case is either very poor quality or is stitched with its diameter too large because the D-ring keeps twisting and the loop looks like it is going to rip/fail prematurely. See attached image.
