After MANY washes in a washing machine (using WATER and detergent), I have finally managed to get the product out and the yellowing has gone. The last photo is what the couch looks like now after washing it out (thankfully back to white instead of yellow). My apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
As I hadn't heard a response back from you, I hadn't processed the refund as promised. I needed to confirm that the refund was able to be placed back into the same account that you had paid from so my apologies for not making that clearer.
Generally with linen, we do get you to spot test first to check for colourfastness and to also check if the material is "dry clean only" on the care instructions. This is normally because natural vegetable dyes have been used or less stable fabric dyes.
Looking at the website and the particular couch that you had bought. the materials care instructions state "dry clean only" which most likely means the fabric is not colour fast.
Linen
Soft, natural and quick to dry, linen is a timeless, traditional fibre with imperfections and colour variations often part of its character.
ITALIAN LINEN WHITE
This fabric range showcases a beautiful linen, making it simple and natural. This fabric has a beautiful natural touch. The fabric colour is dull but natural, soft and exquisite, slight wash marks and colour difference are normal phenomenon.
The Lounge lovers website states that the linen colour is dull but natural. Normally when they state "natural" there are other colour fibres mixed in with the white ones to give it that "natural" look.
I would say that using protectME, which is water based on the "dry clean only" fabric has resulted in the coloured fibres in the natural linen releasing their colour. Yes the washing of the covers numerous times has helped to remove the "yellowing" in the washing machine and down then drained down the drain even though the care instructions state not to do this.
When you applied protectME for the first time, there was no where for the colour to go but stay on the couch.
Again, I am extremely sorry that this has happened and relieved for you at the same time as you were able to fix the problem.
