“Ordering and delivery were straight forward. I did have a minor issue with the spray unit. HINT, pay particular attention to the battery polarity when loading the 4 AA batteries into the spray unit. Get those loaded propertly according to instructions and the unit works fine spraying the solution evenly over the items to be treated. If fabric protection is as effective as the application of the solution is easy then I will definitely be back.”
“Ok so far in terms of performance. Ordered a 2l pack for a layer sprayed on 5 seater couch and had a bit left over for rug. IMO the price is a bit expensive for the coverage and I couldn’t even go a second layer for the couch so unsure if I would order it back again.”
HI Rubina.
I am sorry to hear you have not been 100% satisfied with using protectME.
We usually recommend applying 100ml of protectME per m2 of fabric for most fabrics per coat. Please note that some fabrics will require a second coat — usually thicker/more absorbent fabrics such as rugs, or loose weave fabrics. This second coat can be applied within 30 mins from the first with another 100ml per M2.
Based on this ratio, our 750ml bottle will cover about 7.5m2 of fabric and our 5 litre container will cover 50m2 of fabric.
In regards to your couch, you need to think about how much you are wanting to treat. For example, are you wanting to treat the back, sides, both sides of the seated cushion and both sides of the backing cushion?
If you were to treat a standard 3 seater couch and you were to treat the whole couch, we would normally recommend a 2L big job pack with the battery sprayer for one coat.
The coating should last 2-3 years depending on traffic compared to other cheaper protections that only last 6-12 months.
Thanks
Rachel
“Excellent product. Easy to apply with the spray gun and gives great coverage. It really helps protect fabrics from spills and stains, leaving them looking fresh for longer. The big job pack is good value and perfect for larger areas. Highly recommend for anyone wanting long-lasting fabric protection.”
HI Jarrod.
I am so sorry to hear about your dog having an allergic reaction.
Is you dog ok?
I would love to know what happened and what sort of allergic reaction happened.
The two ingredients in protectME are dionised water and silicon dioxide which is ultimately sand.
These two ingredients are typically safe to use around animals, children and is safe for the environment so it is very strange to be honest that a reaction has occurred and the first dog related one i ave come across.
Hope to hear back from you soon.
Thanks
Rachel
“Tried for more than an hour to get the battery sprayer to work without success so had to use water spray bottle. Applied to coats and left to cure for 24 hours and when tested with water, it beaded but when wiped it seemed to soak in. Not sure if it’ll work as yet
Hi Rachel
I tried all of the steps you mentioned while troubleshooting over an hour and although you can hear a “whirring sound” when holding the trigger, no liquid or bubbles came out.
Please send a replacement that’s been tested.”
HI Adrienne.
I am sorry to hear the battery sprayer does not seem to be functioning properly.
Can i get you to check a few things?
1. Is the battery sprayer making any noise? Is it blowing bubbles instead?
Please confirm you have inserted the batteries correctly, i.e. one up and one down (see image here: https://bit.ly/howtoinsertbatteriescorrectly and video here https://bit.ly/protectmebatterysprayervideo)? Some customers seem to miss that step so we like to double check. The batteries need to be placed in this orientation to be able to draw the liquid from the bottle. A different orientation will sometimes allow the sprayer to turn on but it won't draw any liquid, or will suck the liquid into the bottle as opposed to spraying it out.
If not, try new batteries. It is possible that the batteries provided could be flat so please try new batteries to double check.
2. If you're still having issues:
- Try removing the small white ring that attaches to the bottle to create better suction, if you're having trouble drawing the liquid from the bottle.
- Try placing the end of the straw into hot water and turning the sprayer on. There may be a small blockage that needs to be dislodged.
- Can you hear any noise coming from the sprayer when you turn it on?
I have also attached some instructions that may help: https://bit.ly/batterysprayerinstructions
If you still can't get it to work and you have purchased the sprayer within the last 12 months , please confirm you have tried all of the above steps so we can send you a free replacement.
Thanks
Rachel
