Students in Kapowai are able to refer to some of the machinery by their correct names ie. combine harvester, milk tanker, and know what they are use for.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why?
We were very impressed with the detail of the machinery which lead to discussions around how farmers care for the land and produce food. Great new vocabulary for the juniors students.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners?
Everyone wants to use this resource doing STEM time. There is always an expectation that they will show and tell what they have created which seems to excite them even more.

How important is it to you that classroom resources are made from recyclable materials and are reusable?
How did the context of farming allow your learners to explore and develop literacy?
We use it all the time for literacy activities, whether it is telling a story by creating a scene or making a stop motion movie or writing about the sheep in the paddock and how the farmer will shepherd them into the pen using his dogs.
