What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? This project lead us nicely into the topic of relationship and sexuality education and thinking about how different cultures talk and share in different ways.

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Set us up nicely for establishing a safe and inclusive environment for our term's inquiry.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? This has not only helped with my class being kinder to one another BUT it has also helped my class (Yr 7&; 8) accept and be compassionate with one of our students currently transitioning their gender. I found this kit was so relevant not just towards ones

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? The kids seem more patient with one another and more kinder - wow!!

“Wow his kit was huge! Such a powerful subject and as a beginner teacher I would have been to scared to try something like this. Thank you for creating this to address the issue of racism. My students now really want to trace their heritage - especially after I shared my ancestry research with them. Various students found even though they didn't ";look"; the same they found they had a connection - SO COOL”

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? Awareness mainly. We have been studying different historical time periods and have come onto the theme of discrimination and racism time and again. I feel as though the students have a much better understanding of what this is and what can be done to comb

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Growth in empathy and an understanding of the gravity of even small actions. Knowing that our collective action is required because our collective inaction on even the small things can lead to devastation in lives of other people.

“This was the first time I have done one of the school kits. It was an incredibly important subject and an excellent starting place for important conversations. I thought the activities were good although I feel as though a bit more support with the activities would have been beneficial. Thank you very much for the opportunity to participate in this.”

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? The kit brought up lots of valuable discussion points around stereotypes and issues around race, gender etc. I had to adapt many of the activities to generate these discussions

“Unfortunately this kit did not live up to my expectations and experience of previous School Kit's. I found the teachers manual difficult to follow and many of the tasks seems random and gimmicky. The purpose of the kit did not come through strongly in the recommended activities.”

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? We found that lots of our actions were just simple ideas that made a huge difference - like creating a list of words that are now banned.

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? We now know the words that we say can have a huge impact on others. Our class is much more aware of the words we say and how we think about others.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? Made the issues foremost in students thinking

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? it didn't so much change it as refine it and allow students a voice and the vocabulary they needed to express their thoughts. This work was done with a Yr 5/6 class , I would be interested to see a Yr 7/8 class engage with this resource
