How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? As already mentioned above.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The charging station and the learning around that were very useful. The included videos spurred a lot of discussions in the class.

“This kit has so many aspects to it and to do it justice it needs to be completely integrated in the classroom. The charging station in particular was very well set out and the students often used it. Only once did a student place their tag in the red box, I followed up and the student was dealing with some very serious issues. Unfortunately due to our lockdowns (Waikato) the kit didn't totally get the attention it should have had. I can see the charging station become part of a classroom routine year round. A good opportunity to introduce it in term 1. Well done Schoolkit, another great kit!!”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? I didn’t actually teach the unit as I was in release when this was taught. Nothing but good feedback From the teacher who did teach (I did ask for her to be added to our class but this Didn't happen).

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? We didn’t use this particular resource.

“I loved the parent sheet that came in. The booklets were really good. Some of the resources we didn’t get to use but will use in term one!”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The letters provided a way for students to see themselves through someone else's eyes, and made them feel valued for their abilities.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The journal was a great way to look at their whole selves. It was interesting to see the difference in their writing on days where they were struggling to regulate emotions. We had a busy term which also influenced this. Great discussions were generated.

“Great kit for any time of the year, and we will probably use parts again at the start of school in 2022. I loved the letters - great for the kids to see how they are valued. Some emotional maturity is needed for this kit, but most learners were very receptive.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Getting children to recognise their sense of self. My class have become a lot more aware of how their comments/actions affect others.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The daily check ins gave me a chance to see how each child was feeling as they arrived. I’ve found my children have become more willing to come and ask for support when something has happened

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Self confidence increased a lot. Initially, students had a 'red day' often but after some processing, the children's well-being seemed to have improved and they seemed a lot happier.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? We used the charging station every day for all of term 4. Each day the children did their tokens and took a corresponding card. We talked about the cards as a class or in buddies, explaining what they meant and how to take action on the ideas.

“I really loved this kit - especially the charging station. My children responded really well to it and the information on the cards was very relatable for children and generated excellent classroom discussion. There were many times when issues came up and I used the cards that were applicable to help give the children strategies to work through the issue. A few weeks ago, a close family member passed away unexpectedly. I shared with my class my feelings and talked about how feeling sad is a part of the process. It blew me away because so many children came up to me privately, checked in if I was ok and let me know they were thinking about me. A card we talked about a lot was, "You don't have to be right there to be there for someone."I saw the children acting out the directions of this card. Developing empathy is always a challenge and I found this resource an excellent way to build on these strategies. Because of the age of my students (year 4), some of the content was a challenge for them from the booklet. However, it is a resource I will keep using and I think with time, students will learn how to monitor their well-being in a deeper way.”

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? By providing a non-threatening opportunity for the students to 'voice' their feelings without having to directly talk face to face.It then allowed me as a teacher to quietly meet with them individually

“The kit provided had so many awesome resources to use with my students.I really loved this kit and It fitted really well with a lot of concepts that I had been teaching and gave us an easy way of checking in with the students.”
