How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I felt it was a more complicated process than what we currently do. Circle times, regular check-ins etc.

“This kit fit well with themes we were already covering in our classrooms. Children were able to understand the content, yet there was a little struggle as our children didn't have as much self awareness as we originally thought. The materials were bright and cheerful which was engaging to the group as a whole.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The booklet/journal was great for self reflection, helpful to some reflective thinking on where they were currently at. Didn't get to use the elf charging station due to lock down, had it all set up and the kids were very intrigued by it.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Hard to say since I never managed to fully use the charging station, however I thought this kit was very relevant in relation to what happened with COVID 19 lock down. Was perfect timing that we had just being discussing resilience when the need to coping

“Due to lock down starting when I had only just starting to use I never got the opportunity to use the self charging station. However I thought the lead up activities and booklet were great and could see the potential for the kit to be really helpful.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? By putting a focus on their feelings and how they all relate to others and see themselves.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? It opened up conversations they may not have come up without this focus. It also continued to foster the positive relationships developed with families during the lockdown time.

“I used the kit as part of our settling back into school after lockdown. The children really connected to the journal and thinking about their own feelings, inspirations and people. We used the charging station a bit differently and looked at the cards (as part of a literacy tumble) relating them to our school values and how we could use these ideas to support us. Thanks school kit.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? As mentioned above, it didn’t really work, it was perhaps too tactile and the kids just played around with their tokens and didn’t really get the messages from the cards.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? It didn’t really do much for this, these are all things we regularly talk about in the classroom but I didn’t think the kit added much value to that

“I found this kit quite hard to understand how it was meant to work. I looked at the examples and read through the instructions but felt it was overly complicated. My kids didn’t really get a lot out of it as I was unsure how it worked myself”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Their ability to use the language required to express oneself. To know that as a class member everyone knew the process - expectations meant greater chance to expressing oneself in a risk free supportive way.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The expectations of this kit were easy and clear - with the process to follow being as easy. Communication became clearer because we were all speaking the same language - talking and walking the talk. Kids became more confident - less barriers.

“A really positive result for this kit. I mostly liked the seemless link to current school and class practices and values. This kit gave a clear framework and process for the kids. Looking forward to using it again”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? I look forward to using this kit in my class in term 3. Giving kids the tools to regulate their emotions and feelings will no doubt help them to feel more empowered and confident in themselves and their ability to persevere.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I expect that it will help give us a common language to talk about what kids are feeling.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Sadly we didn’t get to use them together but did use parts of the kit and I found it well written and clear to follow for year 5/6

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I really thought the journal was great. When I saw the charging station I was a bit worried about the work involved but never got to get over that bc lock down occurred :cry:

“We didn’t use fully bc of lock down but we sent the books home with the kids just prior so it was a great extra learning resource during lockdown.”
