How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The girls liked using the disks to say when they weren’t feeling so great

“It was really relevant for our age of girls to meet their growing lack of confidence. The girls really enjoyed going through the booklets. The circle and cards supported the pastoral care and mindfulness elements we had to bring in due to girls exhibiting a lot of anxieties.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? As noted above - if we were in a different time and place I believe this kit would have had a different impact.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Students (and their families) were reluctant to discuss situations within the classroom setting and I'm still finding that I still do not know the true nature of what is happening with them at the moment. Thank you School Kit and Dove for this opportunity

“With Covid19 right bang in the middle of this Kit, where I thought it would be great to use when we were back in the classroom while I loved the Kit and found so many aspects applicable to students who had experienced some anxiety I actually found that due to the nature of many of my students and their families it was extremely difficult to get the full benefit of this Kit. I believe that the 'situation' the students and their families found themselves in was to raw to be able to discuss within the class situation.”

“A great kit with excellent potential. I felt however that I was unable to give it the full attention it deserved due to the nature of the school year. It is a Kit I will revisit and re-use at some stage however.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? As mentioned, we haven't yet been able to focus on this the way we'd like to..but I can say that the emotional check in is a wonderful way to give feelings more of a voice. It's wonderful to hear kids expressing their inner voice and responding well.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? It offers students a 'non confrontational' way of expressing themselves and asking for help or support. It works well when students use it. Many times the kids wldn't think to use this, but again this is due to our lack of time/focus to make it a priority

“This resource has expanded further on an 'emotional check - in' system we currently had running in our classroom. While we were only able to focus on it for a few weeks, due to the lockdown and other things that were running afterwards, it is our intention to build this further into our programme next term. I love the way it aims to get students to reflect on their mental wellbeing and that of others and give them a mindful moment to assess their needs and act accordingly. Working in a collaborative environment with a project based focus with a huge range of specific social and emotional needs, this programme will help us to guide students towards self monitoring and reflection and boost the self confidence we all want our kids to flourish with. Thank you for this opportunity. We look forward to delving into it deeper next term and making this more of a priority as the year moves on.”

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? It's been insightful to see where the student are each day. The tokens have been a valuable resource.

“The content was very positive and we had engaging discussions based on the cards as talking points. The children really appreciated the tokens and we will be continuing to use these for daily check -in. The students' especially my girls, really appreciated red resource cards that they could fill in when they needed a bit of extra attention. Well done School Kit!!! Another great resource!!!”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Children were starting to reflect on how how they were feeling about themselves by way of placing the tokens. However, as mentioned above, due to covid we were unable to complete the kit.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? We were using the daily check in tokens and using these to have general conversations about what was happening and how we could deal with issues as they arise.

“I thought this kit was fantastic to help build children's resilience and self confidence. Unfortunately covid interrupted our delivery of the programme so we were unable to complete it as we would have loved to. By the time we came back to school we had other priorities such as making the children feel safe in unfamiliar territory.”
