Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them Students said it was hard looking at themselves in a positive light. They joked they were naughty, dumb and silly. But when other students disagreed and said they were great support friends and helped with learning they realised they don't see themselves as others do.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Self reflection. Amazing how many students think negatively about themselves and what their teachers think about them.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Question your personal thoughts. Are they coming from you or an outside influence

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them I loved what my mum said about me. I like feeling great and helping someone else with the pay it forward.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The whānau letters as it’s something special to students and for some maybe the first time they’ve heard such things from their parents.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? When you’re feeling great and secure, you can use these feelings to help someone else in different ways.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence They have taken ownership over how they feel and what they can do to make themselves or others feel better.

How has this kit helped develop student resilience? We already have a high sense of resilience in my class, it’s something I’ve built since the start of the year so I don’t believe the kit has helped in this way

“I like the set up of the kit and what it aims to achieve. I think for year 4 though, some of the ideas are a bit advanced. I found it a little difficult to find a flow for the teaching/lessons and instead created my own style of lessons for the big ideas. I absolutely loved the letters whānau had to write for the special child in their lives. Seeing my students faces light up when reading the messages was really special.”

“We found the mahi really helped the target children in particular. It improved friendships, it improved general behaviour at school and home and had a positive impact on school work too. At our final assembly for the term some of the students shared their highlights and successes, really awesome programme, thank you for the opportunity”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "I liked checking how I am feeling, before I get angry." "I used to get really angry when I lost a game, now I am getting better at walking away."

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Battery charging - it made it very specific what each of the 'traffic light' colours meant, gave simple suggestions, and I really liked the pay it forward - not many programmes suggest that students have something to offer others.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? We have a common language set, and routines established, that have made a difference to some students as they now have some strategies.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Some of our more capable students have stepped up into a role model place, and can talk about what helps them. Some students can now articulate that they need food or a drink when they are getting angry.

How has this kit helped develop student resilience? The shrink and boost cards helped students who struggle academically because they found their were things they could do outside of school, and made some more ready to try new things in school.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The cards were amazingly thought-provoking. Even after we finished the unit a student will cut the deck and we start the day with a discussion.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? The ability to be a little more reflective.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them 1 - I like the charging station cos other people can actually see you charging and they know what to say to you 2 - Miss, it's fun doing the tokens because it's cool to put them in the holes and everyone can see you do it so it's okay

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Great kit. We didn't get a great response from our 'Caring Adult' letters but I know what I have to do next time to make sure it's more successful. The charging station display was eye-catching and a conversation starter. It was beautiful to see the conversations develop from 'I'm the top one because it's the highest' to 'How do you know you're fully charged?' and 'I feel like I need to be put on charge too.' The red-zone discussion is vital! We ended up establishing a 'calm space' which served as our red zone. They wanted it to be a calm space because they felt safer to cry, chill with their friends and recharge. Thank you SchoolKit and Dove!
