Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them It gave me a way to let my teacher know that I needed to talk. I learned some ways to manage myself better.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The charge box with tokens. This gave the students an anonymous voice to check in with both of us teachers if they needed.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? We haven't shared the whānau letters yet but I know that these will be very powerful for the students to read what the special adults in their life have to say about them.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Making children more aware of their support networks, involving whanau in the discussions has been great so they can see what their tamariki are up to and support them.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? The tamariki are slowly becoming more aware of their emotions - what leads to tehm and what actions they can take to calm and regulate themselves so they are ready for learning.

One of our students used the red pocket to talk about something that had happened to them that morning.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Hard to judge.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Watching the Dove adverts and the other videos was powerful in having those conversations with students about esteem and social media.

“Not all of this pack was easy for our group of special needs students to understand. However when we picked certain aspects out and simplified the language and tasks, our students were so excited to use it. Particularly the forms that went home that their parents filled in - the look of delight and pride as we shared their family's thoughts about them was so delightful to see.”

Sometimes i cant think of ideas of things to do to make me feel better, but when i go to the wall i can be reminded. 2. I really like how we are thinking more about how we treat each other. I am trying to be nicer.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The red slips from the charging station - giving students a way to express how they were feeling easily. The token and token box - a discret way of telling the teacher that a check in is needed.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I think the student are more aware that we are all different and our levels of tolerance to certain things is also different. I think the class has become more understanding of each other and are being kinder to each other in their approach.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Student are feeling more confident to ask for help and to let other know when something is not going well for them. They has also been an increase in sharing feelings and thoughts in a whole class setting without the fear of judegement.

We have learnt that we are all going to react to a situation in a number of different ways, and we cannot always control that - but we can control what we do after.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "It helps me to feel good when I help Izzy (student with special needs)." "I liked talking to my family about the people they trusted when they were a kid and the values they gained from them."

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? 1. The tokens and recharge station, as it provided an interactive wall display full of tips and improved our awareness of our own needs and the needs of others. 2. The 'My Self' booklets as super engaging and full of well presented great advice.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? It helped make it okay to talk about feelings and empowers them to improve their self-confidence. Provided strategies to improve self confidence and an awareness of why it's important to show prosocial behaviours.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Through exploring what makes you special and providing strategies to 'power up' when needed. Through regularly checking in with our own feelings, having strategies to try when needing a boost and a way of asking for help when needed through the red cards.

“The resources in this kit are both engaging and insightful. The token 'check in' is a perfect way to quickly see how students are feeling but goes deeper than this by providing tips and strategies to help yourself and/or help others power up by paying it forward. This links in perfectly to the prosocial behaviours lessons within this programme which are super, super helpful in a modern classroom. The students enjoyed filling out their individual booklets, learning more about themselves along the way. Again, the content here provided a deeper understanding of how our behaviours power our self-confidence. This is done within the four areas; self-respect, self-belief, self-awareness and self-care and is cleverly linked using charging a battery as a metaphor. There are plenty of helpful tips here for students (and adults) to refer back to whenever we need to recharge.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them PB: The charging station was helpful to me personally with the suggestions from the green and orange envelopes. MC: I think its a good way to check in on how your doing. I like how the red zone has cards so you can write down how you are feeling. I really like the cards...you have to really think about what they are saying you could do. XM: I actually like it because you don't have to tell the teacher when you are in the red zone you can put it in the box. Sometimes its hard to tell the teacher your feelings.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? This kit has developed a positive class culture. Students are looking out for each other and we know that we need to be respectful of each others feelings. They take it very seriously.

“We were slow to set up the charging station but once it was up the students really took to it. We had a big talk about being respectful of the process and their tokens. We talked about confidentiality and being mindful of each other's feelings. Together we came up with a place for students to put their red feelings note if they needed it. We looked at the Dove videos around the same time that Life Education visited which reinforced what we learnt about reputation. As well as giving students ownership over their own feelings and how to deal with them this kit reinforced classroom culture.”

“We enjoyed parts of the programme. The token box was a good way to start our day and make sure to check in with each tamaiti. We used the booklets and found our circle of influences. This was a tester for our kids and they had to talk to friends/family members to find out more. We used check my charge and over a short period of time I felt the kids open a little and share more about themselves. I did find the programme hard to unpack and I do think this was because I had just steeped into a new class. Some of the self image clips I felt I couldn't share with this particular class, as there are some immature students.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Self charging station- gives me a chance to see how students are feeling and them an opportunity to reflect on how they are feeling. It also gives them the ability to be responsible for uplifting themselves or others.
