Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The check in station. It was good to help them monitor how their feeling change over the course of a day and highlights the little things you can do to make your self feel better.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Talking about negative thought and self doubt. Our students have become very confident talking about this behaviour and being able to acknowledge it.

How has this kit helped develop student resilience? Students realise that everyone feels negative and experiences negative self talk some times and that is ok. Most students now have some ideas on how to move past those feelings and things that they can do to make themselves feel better.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Students are more aware of each other as people - not just classmates. We are a small school that is like a big family. Understanding that each student has different needs, triggers, and ideas has been huge.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Most boys were not as engaged as the girls. I think they felt it wasn't aimed at them or that they couldn't benefit from the kit. It took the boys a lot longer to get 'hooked'.

“This kit enabled students to identify key behaviours and strengths that they were proud of. It also allowed them to be self-critical while in a safe and non-judgmental environment. Checking in each day was a novelty at first but some students checked-in after break times as well if they felt that they needed to. The charging station was well used.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Self check in & the "what do you need to recharge cards". Easy tick boxes to explain why kids feel so low. The suggestions of what they need are a bonus.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I still want to use/reinforce this throughout the year.

“Wow! This kit has been very valuable in the Intermediate class where emotions & hormones are running high. It seems as a teacher we tend to be counselors also. This kit provided individuals with booklets, suggestion cards, posters as reminders to look after ourselves & we particularly loved the self check in box & the letter to write to someone special. Thanks heaps.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The self-check in station was a great discrete way for me as a teacher to know how they were feeling. This could be monitored week after week with ease. The students found it easy and less hassle that a conversation, where they may not be comfortable tell

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Unsure at this stage. I would hope that the thing they takeaway is that they know people are there to listen and to help with solutions to their problems.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence heling others/pay it forward. This was a great way to give students a boost from their classmates. I think receiving positive feedback from your peers is what every student is after.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? I think the tokens has been the most successful part of the kit for my class.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Knowing that they don’t always have to be feeling great! And those that are feeling great can learn how to help others.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence I think my students feels comfortable to place their tokens to how they actually feel. Rather than just following the group.

This kit continued on nicely from a mindfulness topic we had completed in term 1 and gave the students a really good feeling of self-worth. “My class really enjoyed the morning check-in. I used the traffic box, to let the learners tell me each morning how they are feeling. We discussed how and what type of things would put us into each section. Someone pushing in lifelong of you for instance didn’t mean you were having a red morning, it was just a red event in a green morning. It really helped my student’s to understand their feelings better and give them confidence to talk about their feeling and why they are feeling that way. I believe it created a greater sense of belonging for each student as we listened and shared with each other.”
