What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the DIY World Records Kit? The students are ready and waiting!
I have previously emailed and sent this review stating in term one I didn't get a chance to implement the kit but I plan on doing the kit this term in term two. Sorry but with the get writing kit and a busy term I haven't had a chance.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the DIY World Records Kit? First sessions were exploring stop watch, then they tried different ways to come up with novel challenges
Took a while for students to see that it wasn't about just them. After three tries , they became more innovative

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the DIY World Records Kit? I loved the formula as it was easy for students to direct the learning themselves and I got to be an entertained observer. Perfect to help gauge the KC's in action as well.
This resource really got the creative juices flowing in the classroom and the kids had heaps of fun creating world records and trying to smash other peoples'. It was also good as my whole class love the books and now they know what really goes into creating a world record!

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the DIY World Records Kit? Excellent student engagement and lots of different ways to make it work - group and individual work. My students loved the physical aspect of it e.g. creating interesting world record attempts and giving them a go.
My students were absolutely in love with this kit. Many of them had experienced it in the past and therefore were familiar with the kit. Their engagement was high and they had cool ideas. The only thing that we found challenging were basically teacher mismanaged a)I didn't allow enough time for it to be done really well and I am going to do it again at the end of this term and next term as part of our Statistics learning, b)we don't have many devices and this caused an issue with the creating of records as students weren't all able to use the internet to search on the sites suggested. The students and I all really loved the resources provided, both the digital and hardcopy ones. Thank you School Kit for all you do for us as professionals and for our tamariki - you are seriously a blessing in our education community!

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the DIY World Records Kit? Students were engaged with all the tasks, particularly the digital side and still are talking about records they have seen on the GWR website. Having the physical stopwatch and measuring tape created a lot of excitement, many had never used a stopwatch be
Room 4 absolutely loved participating in the world records school kit. They were scaffolded well into the record day and it was a great practical link with our measurement maths focus of the term.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the DIY World Records Kit? Kids were super keen and enjoyed coming up with ideas and trialling them. This lead into recording, analysing and discussing our findings.
Such a great kit. Simple, yet with plenty of scope for developing statistics inquiries. The goodies - stopwatches and tapes plus pennants and description cards supported the learning. W@e chose to develop our world records in small groups, so there was a lot of work done around how to work effectively as a group to achieve the outcome.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the DIY World Records Kit? They were highly motivated. The children understood it wasn't a race and that perseverance was going to be needed from early on. The team work and encouragement that they gave each other was impressive to see. Often the children would continue to practice
My class have been so engaged and excited during this unit. We have found and used so many new and exciting words while we have been discussing, attempting and recording our world records The pride on the faces of the children as they received their world record was amazing

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the DIY World Records Kit? The students were hooked from the get go. They really responded to the competitive and creative elements the kit brought to the classroom. It really pushed their thinking about accurate ways of recording data and how to do this in a fair manner.
Dear School Kit, We thoroughly loved the potential for craziness and excitement that this learning kit offered. Both the students and I were thoroughly engaged with the practice challenges and coming up with their own. The teacher notes were clear and comprehensive, supporting very clear learning outcomes. It provided a fun way in which to end the term. I would definitely use this process again. Thank you.
