How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience?
So far the experience is awesome, and we appreciate the work put into having 96,000 poems delivered around the country. Keep it up.
“I found it difficult to interpret the instructions for the poems and how they were suppose to be written. But I eventually figured it out through the use of the Facebook page. I also found that the instructions of the large yellow sheet was difficult to understand, but the FB page helped with this as well. I would still reccommend this activity because it is awesome. Fortunately there are the pages where there are other instructions and a place where teachers are able to ask questions without feeling silly.”

I will definitely try something like this again with next year's class.”

“I have a year 3-4 class - and this kit made them very excited about wanting to write and share. The tin of items was a wonderful resource - we used this both in our oral and written language. An easy to follow resource - love that the postcards make a poster with a saying on the back.”

This just added to the importance and value of the project, and Room 6 were so excited to get the kit and then the partner classes poems to read.
“This kit was great because it showed how a few small sentences and words can become a big piece of art! It also focused on things that really interest kids in writing - ie, toys and song lyrics..”
