How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Love that we swap with another class around New Zealand! Such a great experience.
Once again loved being a part of schoolkit. My class struggled more than usual with this kit, with many needing. A lot of support to choose words that worked together. Working collaboratively helped, however I reused last years self metaphors and had much more success. Maybe it was a little abstract this year? We still really enjoyed it, although I feel that more people felt successful last year.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Adds huge value to the experience. They are eager to see what their buddy class has created in response to the same activity they were involved in.
My class were excited and enthusiastic to try the poem writing kit from Schoolkit. The items in the tin definitely added to the mystery and excitement!

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Definitely, a bonus for them to be able to visualise where on Google maps they poem was reaching and to have a look a the school via the web, made t more real and connected.
The children surprised me as the ones I thought wouldn't want a bar were the ones very motivated! We looked at pattern and form, not what they had considered poetry at all. Talked about Eminem, Gaga and the like; all poets and super cool!

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? The kids loved it. Stretched their thinking, skills and vocabulary. The children are not xcited about getting work from another school.
Great idea Great way to introduce something different to the students! And super cool to share with another school. It would be great in instructions could be simplified. A lot of teachers seemed to have problems understanding the process.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? This makes the task authentic and real to the kids. An important element fo the exercise.
This time the activity was somewhat beyond my year 3/4 class. Generating so many words (40) was too much. My kids could only generate the minimum 18 and would then lose interest as their work bank was exhausted by then. The linking of the words and different elements was too tenuous for these younger kids. I didn't enjoy this as much as the previous years. Too esoteric for younger kids. But thanks any way.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Having a purposeful audience promoted higher quality of work as the children knew they hD to send it to someone else.
My class loved creating the colour poems and exploring the items in the tin. A The video links/ poem on the instructions sheet were a bit over their heads so adapted what we did. Still enjoyed it though. Thanks school kit.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? I really enjoyed this years pack and swapping it with a school in Taupo. I liked how the poster was different and that it was current and had new ideas.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Knowing their work was going to another class ensured quality work :nerd:
The kids loved the writing activities A LOT. One critique is that I did find following the teacher guide a bit of a challenge...but got there in the end. I wasn’t sure if I had all the right info (felt like something was missing even though I had downloaded all the stuff).
