In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Science - Plants and life cycle. Maths and English - secret codes and card games.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are going to continue to grow our veggies and plant an area of garden outside. We are going to look at Life cycles of plants and even grow swan plants and lead that into butterflies and insects. We loved it so much!
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Many of my students didn't know that they could grow their own healthy food. They only thought that others either had to grow it or that it came from the supermarket.
We loved the content of the pack. The story behind the resource was convincing and fun and the children were so engaged in the activities. The resources looked real and are of good quality that allowed then to be re-used and explored further.

The kit really hooked the children into learning. Everyone loves a club and a badge. The children looked forward to seeing mail in the post box and learning all about each vege. We looked at elements such as science,what plants need to grow, how we plant them and why growing veges is good for us. Some of the children didn't know that we could grow veges and they thought they all came from the supermarket!

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? It was a great writing opportunity for my children! This also led into some visual art.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Possibly providing a small watering can or space can enhance the programme more. Possibly a few more plants to make a full class size (30).
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children can now list some healthy vegetables and were beginning to identify these in their lunchboxes or that they eat at home.
The kids were very engaged and loved growing the plants! The badges were also very special.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We really enjoyed the letter writing and filling out the form. The secret messages were also favourites. We were able to bring in measurement It tied in beautifully with out science living world topic.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? self sufficiency we are moving on to a social studies unit comparing past and present that we can also touch on growing our own food

The main attitude towards vegetables was positive and all of the children thought that they were healthy and good for you. Some of the children had
The kids really enjoyed learning about vegetables and watching their plants grew. They loved the secret club aspect and really brought into the idea.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We incorporated Te Reo Maori by researching the maori names for fruits and vegetables, the same with numbers for maths. We created some cool art. We briefly looked at the science behind growing plants - water, sunlight, photosynthesis
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? we would love to do this all again but spend a whole term on it. There were so many child directed learning opportunities that we just couldn't complete as we ran out of time

Wow! What a fabulous kit! My whole class were completely onboard with this one. I had a very high level of engagement. The children just loved growing and caring for their plant. They also loved sampling a different vegetable each week and trying veggies in different ways - raw, steamed, roasted etc. 100% a very fabulous kit!!

I still want to do paper mache vegetables - the kids make their vegetables their growing, so even if it doesnt survive they get a ve

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Learning names we also did a nutrition topic in health on side which was a good follow up relating it to the pyramid and what things to have on your plate.
This was my first time doing a School Kit and my class and I absolutely loved it. The activities were very suitable to their year 2 level. The kids are very familiar with vegetable names and get so excited when they have a vege in their lunchox. Cant wait to do another school kit one day soon.
