“The children in my class (and myself) absolutely adored this KIT. They loved being apart of a special club and took their roles very seriously; to grow, protect and taste. Each day they would check on their plants, and whisper/sing to them to help them to grow faster. They were amazed with the time variation in sprouting and took pride in their individual seedling (naming was very important!). Thank you so much School Kit and New World. We loved this KIT and the learning that flowed naturally from it.”

The plants have yet to mature to be eaten but it has prompted discussion and they really want to try new flavours. They easily talk about vegetables being healthy and good

“I loved the Little Garden. Everything about it was well planned and totally child-centered. It had suspense, excitement and aroused interest and powers of observation and patience to see whose seeds would germinate first. The badges, secret code, card games were perfectly matched to the children's interest level. The pledge and flag-everything was provided with great generosity and I sincerely thank you. For me to provide all those things would have been costly. We have a garden and look after it but this was all so interesting.”

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Some students were unaware of where vegetables came from, and others had never heard of some of the types of vegetables. It was good to see them learn how to look after plants.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Yes and No , Kids are pretty healthy with what they eat. But good for some of them to see plants grow and how to care for them.
