How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We loved the secret messages that came along with it. We decoded them and also used them to write our names. We created character profiles for the different founding members. Measurement and statistics of our plants as they grew.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Unfortunately due to COVID19 we weren't able to spend as much time on this kit as I would have liked. If we had more time we would have been able to do so much more.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? This kit introduced children to various plants that they had never heard of or tasted before. It sparked a huge interest in gardening and sustainability and how to look after our bodies.
WOW! What an outstanding kit! Our absolute fave so far!

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We mostly focused on the new experience of trying vegetables, but also were able to incorporate art and writing.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Exploring the world and seeking to understand - creating lifelong learners.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Many kids did not know that food could grow in the ground! Although they had tried some vegetables, they were limited in their knowledge. This kit widened their worlds.
The kit was a really fun way to get the kids in my class engaged with the idea of trying new healthy foods. Many of them only ever have food in their lunchbox that comes in a packet, so this opened their eyes to the idea of food growing in a natural way. They loved cracking the codes and playing the games, too. Many of them hadn’t heard of the vegetables included in the Vege Patch Match game. When the little garden started sprouting, they had more knowledge and were able to name some more vegetables than previously. We are all excited to come back after the holidays and see the progress, and taste some new healthy foods.

A fantastic cross-curricular resource that was excitedly received by our new entrant's class. It has sparked enthusiastic conversations, experiments and authentic learning opportunities at school and at home. Our seedlings are to be planted in the school garden and eaten when it is time to harvest in a variety of ways both raw and cooked helping to promote healthy eating choices and trying new foods. - Heidi, Pukehou School

My students absolutely loved the school kit! They were so excited when I began to explain to them it was a secret society that I would like them to be apart of.
