How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Science - Some of my student went on to look at pests in the garden, like snails and what they are capable of doing to plants and habitats. I am hoping that we will also do some writing next term as our garden gets more established and at the end of term
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are still using the Kit until the end of the year but some children were very interested in coded messages (how to make them) which led to hieroglyphics - lots of fun!
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? This Kit has prompted many discussions about different vegetables, why some students like some and not others and why we need a variety of fruit and vegetables in our diet for our bodies to work efficiently. We run a learning through play based curriculum
Thank you New World and School kit for this wonderful resource. Many of the children in my Year 1 - 2 class have had little experience in growing plants or gardening. This kit has given my students a new interest in growing food and they are excited to try some new vegetables or vegetables they previously tried. We have planted our seedlings in our school garden and hope to have some produce to try by the end of term.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? art - drawing vegetables science - growth, seed planting, watering/sunshine needed maths - measurement as plants grow coding - using pictures to work out a code, reading the code health - discussing healthy options for snacks and meals
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Continue our measurement of plants as they grow. Learning about what to do with seedlings when they've grown out of their little pot. How plants need continuous feeding of water and sunshine.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? awareness of a variety of vegetable types. Trying new foods.
This has been a fantastic school kit thank you. The excitement around the mystery box was engaging, and then the actual planting of the seeds was such a good learning experience. Linking it to healthy eating, vegetable identification and discussion was awesome too. The codes are fun to work out. Such a variety of skills combined in this kit. It links well to our school's gardening focus and we've extended it to other curriculum areas too. We'll still be working on this kit early next term and look forward to seeing the seeds grow. Huge thanks to School Kit and New World for this engaging kit for juniors.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Our school already takes part in three regular healthy eating breaks: carbohydrate, fruit and own options throughout the day. The children talk healthy foods well, they know a little about vitamins and which foods give us vitamin c etc. Our lunch boxes ar
My class of year 2/3 children just loved receiving this kit. Holding on to the secret was exciting and BIG. I told the children something wonderful was coming soon and the only people they could tell was Mum/Dad. This created huge excitement. Once the kit arrived and we took it apart to see what was inside, the reaction was delightful. The applications, post box and the little pots all very enthusiastically received and followed through. We have really only just begun, but the interest is very high. Everyone is looking after their own seed. During the holidays, because I will be in the room several times, the watering is up to me. The children will tune in again after the break.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? In reading, we read The Little Red Hen and summarised the book. What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We learnt about parts of a plant and the process food goes through from field to table.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Willingness to try new vegetables. This project worked well with our field to table inquiry this term.
Our year two class loved the whole process of this project. We did a blind folded taste test to pass to get into the club which was fun. The children took great care of their own plants, they enjoyed remembering the founding members names. They were all so engaged with cracking the code each week and created their own coded secret messages for each other.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This programme opened up opportunities for the children to become excited and curious about the natural world and gardening. We are an enviro school and this is a wonderful way for our young learners to start their journey and spark their interest.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? When children have a hand in growing what they eat they are more invested in trying new things. It was fantastic that the secret code encouraged the learners to be brave and try new vegetables.
I loved the Little Garden Kit and it was so suited to the lower primary level. It had all the elements that little learners buy into... suspense, a secret membership, secret codes being delivered by HQ, hands on elements through the planting and caring for their personal plant and the wonder of nature and the magic of growing!

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Our school is running a 'best class garden' competition so this came at the right time! We have been doing statistical investigation so this provided us an opportunity to do an investigation about favourite vegetables and which plant we would like to grow
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We will continue to care for our plants eventually transferring them to our bigger class garden. Where students can continue to look after their tipu. If we are successful we will learn about harvesting and using our crops.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? There were many plants that my student's had never heard of before which prompted lots of interest and questions. In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Writing- instructional writing. Oral language- lots of discussions on what is a vegetable and how many we can name. Maths- measuring and comparing.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students have an awareness of a variety of vegetable and herb names. We didn't get to taste them but that exciting part is still to come.
This was an amazing kit that the kids absolutely loved. Each step had an element of excitement from watching the soil expand when the liquid was poured onto it through to which plant was going to pop up first etc. The website resources were incredible and unfortunately I din't get to use all of it due to the shorter term. I would love to see this kit offered again at a later date as it caused a hum within our learning environment.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We did writing about healthy activities, our favourite veges for oral language, made our own paper vegetables, related it to our PE sessions. The links that you provided to texts and songs were great.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? So many boys now want to become part of our Enviro Group and many have asked their parents to get some plants for them to be able to grow their own veges at home. We will also revisit this next term.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The boys were all willing to try some new vegetables and learn the names of some vegetabls that they didn't know previously. Also some good discussion on the importance of eating fruit and veges.
Wow! This was a fantastic kit. The boys were so engaged right from the start when they were guessing what was inside the box ... some interesting guesses. They loved the simple motto of Grow, Protect, Taste. They wer so excited to take their vegetables home over the holidays.
