The Little Garden Kit had all the resources required to learn about plants and grow our own plants in our class. The story, Little Garden Club sign, badges and picture of the different characters engaged the students really well and got them excited about growing their own vegetables. Prior to this unit, most students did not know the names of many of the vegetables, but in the course of this unit, students learnt a lot about the different vegetables, parts of a plant and how to grow their own plants. However, the codes breakers we were sent were more suited to older students from Year 2 up (we are a new entrant/year 1 class).

I love the little garden kit and so did my students. They were excited to find out about the seeds we were going to grown and loved planting them in the pots provided. They watered them daily and were thrilled when they sprouted. I loved that everything was in the pack and it was a sustainable and recyclable cardboard. Children love their badges and were proud to wear them and show the other children. They are keen in being part of the whole process of growing seeds into vegetables.
