How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? The children loved the codes, and it encouraged oral language particularly with children speaking as English as another language.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? I could have done so much more if there was No COVID. We got to start after the supermarket promotion had started and some of the kids had already started.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? No food sharing due to COVID however it promoted a lot of conversation and discussion.
The kit was great! Sadly I didn't know what I was getting, having never done any of the kits before, and so I tipped the box and dirt went everywhere and some labelling stickers got mixed up. The stickers didn't all stick and they fell off. Labelling the box to not tip it would have helped me. I also think it is a shame that we don't know what the kits will be a year ahead i.e. now for next year as we could make sure time and planning works with this so that we could give it the justice it deserves.

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Children spent a lot of time on the codes, and it encouraged oral language, particularly for our ESOL children.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The children have been able to take their planting home to share with their families. They are keen to share their plant's progress over the holiday break.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children were keen to discuss what they eat at home and encourage each other to try new foods. We couldn't have any food sharing due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Children were very excited about being part of a Secret Club! They loved having a guess at what might be in the box. Due to Covid-19 and being in Auckland we didn't have the time we wanted to spend on the kit, and probably didn't give it the justice it deserved.

This has to be one of my favourite School Kit resources! My class loved learning the vegetable names, planting and watching their seedlings grow and being members of the Little Garden League and cracking the codes. As a teacher the feedback from students and parents was all positive and the kit was easy to follow and integrate into our class learning.

This was a fantastic kit for my New Entrant class. They loved working together to crack the codes and were super excited to become members of the little garden league. What a great way for our tamariki to become more evolved in gardening and eating a wider range of vegetables. Thank you so much New World.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Great cross curricular links. We used it for our 'creative exploration' time where it had links to writing, science, technology, art.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The kids enjoyed the breaking the code activity- but being Y1 and Y2 they needed support- and only did the first code, otherwise it would have been a bit repetitive. It would have been great to have more challenges of other types emailed. We loved the app
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? As Auckland was in level 3 we only had 3 weeks to promote and plant. Unfortunately we weren't able to get into much about healthy eating but with more time we could have lead in that direction. We focused on spring and planting and seeds.

Little Garden League was a real success in my class. The children were all engaged and engrossed in growing their little plants. They remembered the three word pledge and enthusiastically decoded the puzzle. Every time the class phone rang they thought the call was from the headquarters of the LGL. We all had great fun together. Thanks a lot.
