In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Great literacy and numeracy opportunities: -code cracking -alliteration (names of founding members) for writing -capacity/measurement
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Many children have taken home the seedlings over the last week and began planting them (as school holidays for the next two weeks).
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Lots of discussion, particularly at brain snack/morning tea and more of a focus on trying new healthy foods too.
A fabulous kit for my NE/Year 1 students! They were keen every morning to water our seedlings and check and see if we had any messages from HQ. This tied in nicely to our school edible garden programme.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? It helped with Maths as we were observing and predicting and measuring.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We have made a garden at school and we are going to keep on growing :) Thanks guys!
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We have learnt that they are more green food groups that we didn't even know existed! Who knew you could eat borage!
The children loved the whole concept of the Little Gardens. They enjoyed planting them and watching them grow and watering them daily. It was a great product and allowed us to all learn about different types of vegetables. I learnt too as I always thought borage was what cows would eat - not us :) It has inspired us to keep growing our gardens and we are looking forward to eating what we grow. We all remembered the motto - Grow, Protect, Taste A great resource, very well packaged, it ticked all the boxes! Thanks for helping us to make our growing topic more realistic.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Provided rich writing experiences and opportunities. Science...we learnt all about how plants grow. We could have linked a whole maths theme to our garden easily.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Sustainability. Little garden provided a growing awareness and opportunities to notice our school and home gardens. It also led to learning about and being involved in helping with mulching school gardens and the purpose for mulch. It inspires life skills
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It did raise an awareness of the vegetables they eat and like. I would have liked to have a vegetable sampling session but didn't get round to it.
A great resource to inspire students to take an interest in growing plants and the benefits of making their own gardens. Student's loved the idea of belonging to a club. The badges were a highlight (unfortunately many broke within the first week). The coded messages were another highlight and extended the juniors thinking as they worked with buddies to work out the message. It was fun! Thanks!

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We are a catholic school and have been learning about God's creation and vegetables and plants link really nicely to this.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? More learning about self sustainment. How to grow and then cook food from the ingredients you have grown.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students are more aware of the vegetables they like and have tried. Are more excited to try ones they haven't tried as they have grown them themselves.
Student's have not only loved getting to grow the vegetable seedlings, they felt privileged and excited to join a 'Secret Club' which came with exciting badges, codes to crack and an exciting story.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We will continue to have a classroom garden and buy seeds to plant and grow throughout the year. Thank you, this has been a lovely School Kit!
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? My class (and me!) learned about new vegetables and we have tried to try new vegetables during morning tea and lunch.
My class have had such fun with the Little Garden School kit. They loved the badges and letters which they had to complete. They also loved the code cracker and were able to complete 2 and 3 by themselves after we worked through 1 together (They are 5 and 6 years old). They have been delighted to watch their plants grow and remind me to let them water them every day. A really super School Kit!

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They have learnt about new to them vegetables and the importance of eating veges/fruit etc daily. We have bought the books recommended with this kit and they are fully engaged. We are encouraging a healthy wider range of food in lunchboxes too.
My year 0=2 students are LOVING watching the plants grow. I tell them, just like how they grow in their learning at different speeds, plants do the same. We've learnt a lot about the different veges and herbs and flowers and have spent a morning tasting lots of raw and cooked vegetables. We are very excited to see the growth after the school holidays and look forward to hopefully cooking/tasting some of the veges we have grown before the end of term 4. There is a huge amount of learning here - we'll continue it right throughout term 4 and in all curriculum areas.
