In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children were much more interested in learning about how the plant grow. However, they are excited to see how small seeds turn into vegetables. They are starting to get more excited to actually be able to eat the vegetables they grow.

“The little garden kit is just amazing! My class loved learning about how the plants grow, how we look after them, and how much love, care and effort takes to grow plants. Through the kit, my class is learning to take on responsibility as well. It is wonderful for the children to see how the plants grow.”

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We could grow community gardens at school. Using the food to feed students and families in our community. Eat healthy food that wasn't processed keeps us healthy.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Five Years olds think all food comes from supermarkets. It was a ";wow"; moment for them to realise that food comes for plants.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are using are little gardens in our vege garden at school and hope that when things become ready everyone will have a taste. We have been working on this that even if you don't like something today tomorrow you might because as we get older our taste b

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children all know that vegetables are good for them and that it is good to try new ones. A number of children have made gardens at home which is wonderful.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Unfortunately at this stage no further learning but it has me thinking about learning for next year.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We were able to briefly talk about this, but due to the timeframe we had in class we could not talk about this fully or as much as I would have liked.

“This has been a very exciting kit for my students. However it would have been better if received at the start of a term rather than the end. I don't feel I was able to give the kit and learning around it justice. Unfortunately I already had things planned for Term 4 which cannot be changed.”

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? we kept a diary of the germination process. We learned about germination and then made notes and drew our observations.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? cooking with the herbs and veg grown

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? in quite a few cases the children were not familiar with the veg and herbs that they were growing. It have is a chance to try new tastes

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Literacy writing, art, (maths - if we'd had more time before the end of term to do more measuring as they grew) Health

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We visited our revamped school garden and will continue to utilise this next term.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We looked at how plants grow and what parts of the plants we can eat (from roots to seeds). We honoured all parts of the pledge and the TASTE was the best part - kids tried and love eating raw veges (some new ones too)

My class loved the hands on aspect of the kit, and I loved how I could tie it into other topics we were doing - how plants grow and being able to utilise out school kitchen garden. The pledge was so simple yet effective. We used all the components of the kit - first time I can say this!”
