What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They students are excited to see how their food is grown and arrives at the table. For many they have not seen growing vegies, only them for sale in the supermarket. It is exciting and a real adventure.
From the excitement of a box being delivered to secret codes and swelling disks of soil, my kids have been hooked. We even got our caretaker visiting to check on our plants and use old tote trays to allow us to keep our seedlings alive during the holidays. This kit has been a fantastic lead in to Term 4 where we are discovering the importance of caring for our 'whole self'. As the class leave for the holiday break they are already looking forward to returning to see how their plants are getting on. Thank you, thank you. This has been such a fun adventure. PS: the supermarket has become a special trip for many of my students where they hunt out the special characters and spot the vegies they know. As one parent commented ";It has never been easier to get around the supermarket, there is no moaning as they are desperately searching the entire time for more of the founding member pictures."; Well done everyone.

The Little Garden Kit was well thought out and presented. My class of Year 2 student's have been thoroughly engaged through the whole planting and growing process. The fun activities and members badges have helped with creating the vege club culture and encouraged active participation for all students. We have loved creating a Little Garden in our classroom and look forward to doing so again with future classrooms.
