How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? There was a lot of team work, measuring (when it came to planting out the sprouted plants), English etc, etc
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Looking at which plants grow at which times of the year, designing menus, sharing recipes. Maths opportunities using measurements in recipes etc.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Different ways to use each of the plants grown was discussed and some of the children were keen to try different things. If we were to do it again we would try a 'favourite recipe' Friday where we could bring in and share recipes.
The children loved this. We kept the gardens in the classroom to begin with and we were getting regular updates about when they had started to sprout. They were then moved to a larger garden where they could grow more freely. The children loved becoming 'watering crews' and making sure all the plants were watered and looked after. We probably planted them a bit late in the year for it to have made a large change to their personal eating choices.

The kit has made the children more aware of the process of how vegetables are grown and also how to care for the plants from seed to table. In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? This linked really well with out Garden to Table program. We were able to plant some of our seeds in our school garden and watch them grow. Some have even been harvested!
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We have lots of interest in continuing our school vegetable garden. The children are writing a pitch to our principal about having a class plot to take care of.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It has helped grow knowledge and understanding around different plants, and the ongoing commitment to take care of living things. We have had lots of feedback from whānau around how these plants are going at home, and children trying new vegetables.
We enjoyed the story behind this kit. The children loved taking on the responsibility to be a Little Garden League Member and loved the top secret mission. The resources were amazing! We really liked the range of learning, from code cracking, to learning filled videos. The kit provided fantastic learning that has continued long after the timeframe.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Lots of opportunity for oral discussion around vegetables. Older students were able to do further research as well. What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? I think my young students are now confident and motivated to try different vegetables and link this learning with home cooking and gardening as they grow older. I hope that this prompts them to think about the goodness and importance of healthy eating and

Little Garden League. Loved this. As a teacher it was great to have resources made to promote such an important aspect for healthy young people in future. Students were very motivated to participate and having little incentives like the badges was awesome. I loved the opportunities that encouraged students to participate in other aspects of the curriculum and it all linked perfectly with our school beliefs and programmes that were already in place. Thank you.

The class enjoyed this kit immensely. The excitement started where they had to apply to be a LGL member and they enjoyed cracking the codes. This kit encouraged lot's of discussion around plants and different types, the conditions they need to grow and taste and textures (just to name a few).
