In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? The texts and suggested books were really helpful. It also allowed us to learn about measurement through watering our plants. Science was a great link too.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We ended up learning about 'looking after ourselves' as a follow on from learning bout nutrition. Thsi has taken us to the end of the year. Students are loving it!

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students were more than willing to give new vegetables and fruit a go. The feedback from parents regarding this was great! We tied this into the Garden to Table programme and our life education visit.

“My class loved this kit. They enjoyed the concept of having to submit a nomination form in order to be a member of the Little Garden League. It was surprising how they took this very seriously. The game supplied in the kit was well received. When students learnt of their membership in the League, they would then start planting their seeds and took on the responsibilities that follow to ensure the seedlings will survive.”

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Rich oral language were using while discussing all the different veggies. The children loved the names of the veggies. Measuring the growth of the plants was great.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Taking care of a plant is a commitment and takes time and lots of patience.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We talked about healthy food choices and how to try new food. We decided that we had to try a new fruit or veggie before we can say we don't like it.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We used key competencies to help us with working together and sharing responsibility for each other and our environment. Writing was used with the letters and we increased our vocabulary knowledge and awareness of plants.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? In order for us to expand our knowledge of healthy eating, I think it would be good to learn how to compost our plant waste. This would have been a better project for term 3 too, to have time for the plants to grow into edible plants.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students learned about plants they had never heard of before. It gave us chances to read more about these foods and how we could enjoy them. We also had a lot of conversations about preferences in foods. This made kids curious to try what their friend

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are currently still working through the kit. However, we would like to use the vegetables grown to make our own soup and learn about following recipes. A next step could be to educate our community to about healthy eating and gardening.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We used this kit as a way to promote students to try new foods and develop their understanding of the gardening process.
