In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We experienced drama with the LGL, science with learning about plants, Literacy in writing about our experiences and reading books about plants

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are now looking at global warming and its effects on the planet.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Planting vegetables helped the students become interested in the types of veges available and gave them the courage to try tasting some of them. They were surprised by how many vegetables they liked

“The Little Garden League pack Sponsored by New World was engaging for the students and very helpful for their learning. The activity ideas and links worked well and led in to more learning. The children were very excited to be a part of the LGL and the idea linked well with drama conventions. I would highly recommend this pack and look forward to working with school kit again”

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We used the kit during our inquiry - we used it as one of our action stations as well, and we wrote stories about the process of using the little garden kit.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? There is potential to use in during health even more by cooking with it and looking at the nutritional value.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It sure has - we have used the seedlings along with some veggies that we as teachers bought. We had a testing table for a few weeks where students had to try different vegetables - we heard a lot of feedback from parents that their kids were trying more f

“This is such a great resource to use alongside your teaching. Not only were the teachers excited about using it, the students had a blast through out the whole process. We were able to use this kit alongside our action station planning and adapt the programme to make it ";fun"; learning. The students enjoyed planting and looking after their plants, they also loved planting their seedlings in our schools tunnel house! We can't wait to see everything grow and use them for our cooking at school.”

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We designed lesson for Mathematics and Literacy around the plants. Children measured out the water needed and graphed the grow. They also wrote a report about their experience.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The hope is that we will have lots of yummy vegetables one day in order to have a soup day.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The activities to go with the plants help the children to name the different vegetables and herbs. There was a healthy discussion about how to eat them in a few months time.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Cooking and preparing the vegetables once they have grown.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? A lot of my students did not know what some of the vegetables were and had never tried them. A lot of children cant wait to see how the vegetables are used and how they taste once prepared.

We were able to measure the amount of water that we gave the plants and discussed millilitres etc. We also measured the plants before
