How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We did some more learning around planning our garden (technology and art) and we have also done some further science.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This was a great one for us because we are an enviro school. We are having a garden competition in term 4 and we are excited to use our knowledge and experience from little gardens to help us win!

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? There has been lots of questions and curiosity around vegetables and herbs we have and haven't tried. We are looking forward to tasting the 'fruits of our efforts'. Fingers crossed they continue to grow successfully.

“The kids were so excited about this one! They love that they had enough to plant their own plant and be excited to watch it grow. They have had lots of great questions and great curiosity. In our termly reflections a lot of students talked about how much they enjoyed our 'garden club'. To be mentioned in a termly reflection is a big deal because they usually just talk about how much they love golden time and PE and art. A great kit thank you!”

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are starting our own class garden where we will grow vegetables and fruits.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The kids are bringing more fruit and vegetables in their lunch. They can't wait to try some of the food that we grow and have created our own vegetable garden.

“My class loved seeing the plants growing in the classroom. They filled the forms in with their families and they take their job in the garden club very seriously. This is an awesome resource and has keep their focus all term. The service is wonderful and they answer questions very quickly.”

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Educating learners to be excited about healthy eating and encouraging them to grow their own vegetable garden.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The learners observed their plants sprouting and growing in different stages, showing great determination in wanting to eat the vegetable.

Learners were able to make their scientific hypothesis about what they think will happen to their seed and how long it will take to grow. In Writing, learners wrote about their seed and their observations, constructing sentences. For lot of the native spe

Learners can teach their family members about the different types of vegetables and how we can cook them and what kind of dishes you can make with them. Learners can use the grow, protect and taste motto to experience other living fruits etc.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Learners were introduced to different types of vegetables and types of vegetables that they didn't even know about. The are so involved in the fact that they can grow their own vegetables to cook and eat.

The learners enjoyed the hands-on activities and planting their own seeds and looking after them. The learners enjoyed decoding the messages send from head quarters.”
