In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? The students were able to write about their experience and link it to our enviro-school learning as well.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We were able to research more about gardening (what makes a good garden, what to add to make our seedlings grow well)

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students have been more willing to try new vegetables at home and to increase what fruits and vegetables they eat.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Planting them in our school community gardens and being Kaitiaki's of this garden.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We run a healthy eating programme at school that focuses on healthy cheap meals families can make. This was great to include in this programme to show them how they can grow their own.

“The kits were absolutely amazing! The children loved watching them grow. A huge thank you to New World for providing these. They enjoyed applying and putting them into the letter box they made. Would be great to have a similar kit like this for next year too. Tied in great to our Garden To Table programme.”

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We were able to link: Science, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Art and Technology with the unit - from the garden to the table! Cross-curricular learning made it more 'relevant' for the students and was more engaging in general.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The opportunities are endless but the one I am going to work on next is: Our Past, Our Present, Our Future - Nga Kai.... Here's hoping it goes as well as as this has gone so far!!

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students have learnt a few things about nutrition that they previously did not know, so for us that is a bonus. Having practical activities always makes learning more interesting and these little 'gems' have inspired some genuine interest in learning

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Used in written language - writing about their plant, Science talking about the parts of the plant eg: sstem, seed, roots, leaves, stalk etc Maths = how high their plant was bigger, smaller, taller etc

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We will be growing more vegetable plants in our school garden. We have planted sunflowers as well to look at the growth of these plants. We will be weeding, composting and working with a worm bin to recycle food/paper waste etc.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? TThey have learnt the names of a lot more vegetables and herbs. The health benefits of these and hhow to grow them.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? we gave been collecting data of time each seed grew into a seedling. We will use this next term to extend into our statistics

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Through discussions, naming and playing games that included naming vegetables and talking about how we can use them in our breakfast, lunch n dinner.

“It was lovely kit, well used by our children. Given them an opportunity to take ownership of their own plants , see them grow n take them home to plant in their vege patches. Great way to show children garden to table concept and it was purposeful doing it.”
