What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Launched an inquiry into healthy eating. Reviewing our lunchboxes and seeing what changes we can make to the food and the amount of rubbish waste. WE LOVED THIS KIT! THANK YOU SCHOOL KIT AND NEW WORLD.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? the garden to table concept going

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We have been working on the garden to table concept with our children, this is in the early stages but having this kit has added to the promoting of the garden and eating good.

“Our staff and kids love it, love the whole concept. The teacher in charge of our garden is working through the activities and is involving the whole school (we have a small school)”

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? It has provided different things to write about (the class did some independent writing and wrote to the LGL explaining how they planted their seedlings). We are a NE class so the learning has been quite basic.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We hope to use the vegetables in some cooking/baking when they are ready. As the seedlings continue to grow, we will also start to measure them.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We have discussed vegetables, but this was mostly during and after the application process. I believe this will pick up once the vegetables truly start to grow. We are going to plant the seedlings at school so everyone will be able to see the progress and

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Reading - learning about vegetables, soil and the process of growning. Writing - procedure writing, explanations. Math: Measuring, Geometry - leaf.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Still thinking on that one.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students understood that food came from somewhere, not just the supermarket and that they could grow their own. We used our pacifica links to talk about how we planted and ate in the old days and how our body needs certain types of food.

“My students loved LGL. They were sad when the last message came through and wanted to know more. They have taken great care of their plants. This was a great resource and I loved the way you created a buy in for the students. LGL and the clubroom was an awesome idea.”

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We talked about healthy eating and growing our own vegetables. As our school does this as a garden to table program, our students knew lots about this anyway

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? I mixed it in with science and literacy

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? In summer we would have watched it row and done some statistics with this. Although the Covid level shave played a massive part in what we do with the gardens etc.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They know that the lettuce is able to be eaten straight away if it is cleaned.

“Good set and enough for everyone in the class. Although it was hard for us to unpack them together in the garden due to Covid levels. It created great discussions for everyone about what is healthy and what in a fridge is able to be eaten from the garden.”
