What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Tied along aside our term 4 topic of Hauora/wellbeing and how healthy eating ties into that

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It started a lot of great conversations around healthy eating and eating in moderation.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We had focussed on God’s creations and our environment. This enabled integration nicely for 5 year olds.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Just the magic of planting good food for consumption.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Lockdown hygiene take take some precious time away from planting and caring for this.

“Great for children to see their plant growing and to know what is needed for their plant to thrive. Unfortunately the children had to take their plants home because lockdown 2 happened. I did not pursue this any further.”

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Probably not as much as it could have but that was entirely our fault. We just ran out of time.

We set up a role play Garden centre which was very successful with many of our students using oral language and writing in their play. We set up a role play Gardening Centre which allowed the children to write lists, use their oral language and sor

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We participate in the Garden to Table programme so this kit has added to this by adding to the learning of the children. This learning will be continued, where the children get the opportunity to work in our school garden and then be able to use the produ

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Our school is participating in the garden to Table programme so the kit has enabled the children to build up their learning opportunities.

“Before the last holidays we gave the children their kit. The plant was to be looked after so we could use it in a miniature garden to be on display for our school Ag Day. The children were very enthusiastic. We had lots of positive feedback from parents. The children's knowledge of plants grew.”

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We used the Little Garden as a writing topic and also as a context for math problems for a few weeks.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This linked perfectly into our current school inquiry around looking after the environment and started discussions about the benefit of grown ing your own produce.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students wrote stories about why you should eat vegetables and shared these with family members. They all had great ideas about the nutritional value of eating vegetables.

“The class loved this kit, they learnt about different vegetables and are more eager to try them. The connection to New World allowed them to see this in their weekly shops and also all over the TV and built up their engagement. The resources were wonderful and the secret codes were an exciting aspect of the little garden.”

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Although due to interruptions of Covid and rescheduling of our school production I feel we didn't manage to get the most out of our kits I can see that if utilised to their full potential that they would be very effective.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Igniting an interest in growing own veggies both at home and from feedback from parents at home too. Also how we could move forward with a garden to table or a garden to giving programme - to ";Do a Little Good"; - which is our school motto.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It raised great awareness about the very many vegetables that there are - many children learnt about lots of new veggies they had never heard of apart from the more traditional vegetables.
