How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We used vegetables, fruit throughout other subjects, like counting and adding vegetables and fruit, writing about our favourite foods, playing games during PE like fruit salad, we sang about food, drew and painted foods, looked at tgechealthy food pyramid
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Building on what I gave said in the last box. Going more in depth about food and looking at what foods are not so good for us and why.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We talked about what vegetables and herbs we had, we looked at what we could make with them and we also cooked some to try as a class.
This pack was amazing for our year 0-2 class. I made the LGL all a bit mysterious and they were so excited that they got to apply to become a member...they kept asking everyday have you heard back from headquarters yet?! The look on their faces when I finally said yes was priceless! They were so proud to get their badge and own seedling! The learning around planting and how to care for plants was amazing and transferred to everyday things also. Was so cool seeing them get so excited to water the plants etc. We have put them into our school garden now and waiting for them to grow vegetables. Thank you so much for this pack, what a fabulous initiative! Looking forward to seeing what other packs come out.

This kit was so enticing to whole class of Year 1 children. On opening the box, the excitement was high due to the high standard of presentation. It was lovely for all of them to get their own seedling pot and they thoroughly enjoyed the hands on nature of this project. The display unit for the seedling pots was well thought out and the children loved tracking their plant's progress and height. A complete highlight was signing onto the pledge in order to get their badge. It made them feel part of the team! Having plants in the classroom, as well as the ongoing project encouraged many of them to talk about plants, vegetables and healthy eating. Some were further encouraged to plant their own vegetables at home for a side project and others came to school to share that they had tried a new vegetable for dinner!

This resource has been amazing from start through to completion. In fact it is still providing us with information and discussion as we watch our plants grow, both at home and in the classroom. This was one of the coolest ways to start a unit. The children loved the intrigue and the idea of a secret club. They were hooked in to finding out about their ";little garden"; right from the start. Our garden project involved children finding out about the plant they received, and how it benefits our health and well-being. It has been awesome to watch the children caring for their plants and the excitement generated when they can see the growing stages.
