How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The children learnt about so many vegetables they hadn't heard of before. And one Chinese girl in my class recognised a lot of vegetables she eats at home and could tell the class about them.
The kit was amazing. The children learnt so much about different kinds of vegetables. They tended to them with a spray bottle of water everyday and we recorded which vegetables grew the fastest and which ones took their time. They were very surprised by the snow peas as they grew sideways around all the other pots!

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Absolute passion for growing vegetables, awareness yes , unsure whether this will be carried over long term for some.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Students were able to monitor their plants and talk about how they would grow.
Kids were keen little gardeners, with many continuing this passion at home during Term 3 holidays. We have continued planting this term and even with the torrential rain that swamped the plants, the kids had opinions as to what that meant short term and long term growth at school and at home.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They had prior knowledge of a few veggies, however, this kit experience extended their knowledge on the names of veggies they didn't know of.
Authentic experience for the learners. They have worked collaboratively with other learners, have been engaged at all times, and have had great discussions about the veggies they eat.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The student have daily fruit or vegetables and they have brought in more veges and lots of discuss from parents about the plants and how excited the children were to plant them.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The students remember their own seedlings very well because of the characters.
This resource was extremely useful with my year one class they enjoyed the fun characters and related them to vegetables. the students loved being able to plant and seeing the magic soil expand made them so excited. It was a very useful kit with everything you need. The students would also love the display and check the seedlings everyday.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It encouraged them to be more healthy in their lunch choices and the benefits of many vegetables on the body. It taught them how to grow, care and look after vegetables and their environment. they learnt to research create recipes and teach others.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? At the start of the unit we did a blind vegetable taste as a whole class to identify and try new vegetables. The kids were so excited and the engagement was fantastic it gave them the opportunity to try new vegetables and in some cases students had never
wow what an amazing kit! kids absolutely loved being secret agents and part of the little garden league. They already had a good knowledge of healthy eating and growing as we are an enviro school and grow a lot of our own produce. We were able to set up a room 5 garden and the kids planted there veges and loved the responsibility of caring for their own Gardens.

A hands on kit where the students were able to care for their plants and watch them grow. They have taken them home and are excited that some popped up.
