My small class of highly autistic students were very excited when I introduced the little gardens kit to them. They loved the hands on nature and watching the seeds sprout. We are lucky enough to have our own patch in the school garden and our learners have renewed interest in our garden program!

Such a wonderful kit to use, very appropriate for my Y1 classroom. Really happy we had more than enough plants because they have attempted a few times to grow their plants. Material that accompanied the kit was really fun and my tamariki loved it. Looking forward to posting and sharing more of our learning on the app

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? As I did not extend the learning into this area I don't know how much it impacted healthy eating but certainly growing their own veges I am sure would inspire them to try eating them!
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Students enjoyed the vege match game and it got them dicussing the names of veges and debating who was correct.
The students enjoyed gplanting and growing their seeds. As I had a separate Inquiry going on at the same time I believe the students would have gotten more out of it if it had been fully extended by me - we did not go into the depth of learning we could have. I suggest ensuring you have plenty of time given to fully get everything out of this resource. In future I will plan ahead how I am going to use the resource to it's full potential.
