What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We had some great discussions as we are an enviro school and how we can improve our school gardens. It also led to conversations about how we can improve and look after our environment more.

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It was a nice way to offer choice as well as a chance to try something new and be adventurous on a low stakes fun way. It is hard to resist trying something you grew yourself.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Our students are pretty open minded about vegetables so they already had some good knowledge and enjoyed adding to their prior knowledge with some of the new vegetables, especially some of the herbs.
So much fun! Worked really well with this term as it was warmer and we were able to get outside. Our enviro warriors were particularly inspired and excited by the growing and what we could do and where we could take this.

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Most of the children eat only a few vegetables each ( 5 year olds) it was good to talk about trying new vegetables and being brave.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The children did not know the names of many of these vegetables, so the kit has introduced them to the idea of the vegetable. Obviously it will be quite a while before the plants are mature and they get to taste them too!
The kit was a welcome addition to our classroom programme. I run a learning through play everyafternoon in our classroom, and this was an activity that all children were engaged in and wanted to to. It was exciting to watch our seeds germinate.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children have talked about trying new things however opportunity at home may limit this. We intend to try some at school if they get big enough and survive.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Helped some students more than others but interesting for some who have never heard of some of the plants including the teacher!
The children have had enormous fun planting and watching their plant grow. Great discussions about how some sprout faster and how fast some grow. New excitement now that they are ready to go home for planting. Wonderful vocabulary and writing done by the students. Thank you for our "Little Garden" plants.

I feel like we did not do your Kit justice! We needed more time. The kids loved planting , there was lots of discussion about seeds and where seeds come from. I am not sure if this transfers into recognition of the vegetables. We have seedlings waiting to be planted in the garden- so it may be a long process.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We predicted, shared prior knowledge, planted, discussed, watched the seedlings grow, presented them on Ag Day for the visitors to see and read about. We planted them into the school communal garden for all to enjoy and watch grow bigger.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They cannot wait to taste and eat them, they talk daily about what they do and don't like amongst the range of veges we planted. The more conversation happening around them the more the children are starting to change there thinking and willing to try veg
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Kids focused more on math concepts such as: size and measuring them rather than identifying the correct names of the vegetables. They were more interested in which seedling is growing the tallest, widest, what one has more leaves or stems etc.
Kit was amazing and resources were much enjoyed.
