How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? There are still a few they aren't sure of but they definitely learned some new names.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Students wrote about what they saw. They measured how high the shoots grew. They read the instructions and they drew about the process.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students can now see how heathy and affordable it is to grow your own vegetables because they know there are no it is all natural. Thank you a million and I hope you like the book.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? So much impact. Some students did not know what or how to grow vegetables. Some students did not even know what some of the vegetables were. They were able to identify, look up and now watch these vegetables grow.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Lunch boxes are less plastic food. We planted our gardens - all five plots! and are yet to reap the fruits of it as we had to wait for the frosts to stop.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? We had previously been working on improving school lunchs that they bring to school and did a blind food taste for the whole school which was enlightening for some of the children. We also discussed the ability to eat some flowers as well.

“We had so much fun in Term 3 that it is still going strong in Term 4! I think that even though some children will be moving up next year to a new class that we will still meet at the garden at lunch times. We had discussions about different vegetables and the time of the year that we grow them and included Māori planting cycles. Always an inspiring kit.”

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This helped a lot as we got parents involved going to new word and looking at the vegetables to see if the students recognise the vegetables beyond the picture cards. This was a hit!

“We had an amazing time growing our own veggies and herbs! Students in Year 1 learnt a lot of different vegetables, healthy eating and caring for something more than themselves. This was a great experience for all of them. Thank you!”

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Students already had a wide knowledge of vegetables, but this kit slightly broadened this.

“This kit was very exciting and engaging for all children, regardless of their prior knowledge and experiences with gardening. Planting the little gardens from New World meant they were able to extend this learning into their personal lives, and make connections as well. Students were excited to receive the pledge badges and it meant something they already know/have done in the past was elevated.”

“I found it very confusing from the get go and have stayed away from the online things. After signing up I followed the instructions as best I could but after a long time I had to cut my loses and give up. Too many portals to go through and steps to fulfil. Looked good but the accessibility was the most difficult I've found in a website for a long time.”
