Science, learning how plants are phototropic and will orient themselves towards the light. Their application involved writing so good links to literacy. We linked it to our weekly poem about seeds growing into plants.

At this point they haven't grown into vegetables, so we haven't had the chance to taste any vegetables. But I'm sure it would likely make them more adventurous to try the vegetables once they have grown.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables?
We haven't got to the vegetable stage yet, as the plants are still small, but they have been talking about the different plants and checking the names on the labels. The game has helped them to learn new vegetable names.
