What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The heathy eating (health) aspect was great as well as the science part. I got my students to also write instructions (procedure) to explain all the steps they did to plant their seed.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We have the free lunch in schools which the kids enjoy and can identify the healthy fruit and vegies in their meals. I would say the majority of students are more health conscious.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Students have a much better vegetable vocabulary and can identify more than at the beginning!
This was a great opportunity for my tamariki. All the students were engaged when planting and they absolutely loved watching their seedlings grow. They had turns at being the one who used the watering can to water everyone's plants which they loved. It was great how the kit worked across lots of different curriculum areas. They loved the badges and found lots of other students from around the school who were also in the 'secret club'.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We wrote what am I description stories, graphed data and created 3D veges. Lots of planting in the garden and setting up a vege shop in the classroom. Kids were baking (real & pretend) including veges and herbs and making labels to add. - (Y0/1 class)

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Great. lots of links to whar kids grow/eat at home. research to find out more about new to them vegetables too as a group as interest & questions asked.
Great timing, just in time for srping! Getting planning/organised for term 4 topic. Super resource...thank you!! Our kids loved it and the learning was awesome. Lots of conversations around manākitanga, whanaunatanga and whenua, our school values and caring for our environment. Kids very engaged and independentley playing, exploring in the garden in break times too! Lots of self-led play, explotation and learning and sharing with peers! Even engagin older students. Awesome resource, a shame about the shipping delay (out of anyone's control so very understandable) but the communication was great. Badges upgrade with clip much better - thanks, less to try and repair.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this kit! We have had such a blast doing. It's super engaging for the kids - they are thoroughly enjoying watching their plants grow and caring for them. I can do all of my teaching through this - I have created maths problems, we are reading and writing instructions, and of course doing lots of science through this. Thank you!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We used this as a science focus i our Monday morning easy start to school. Children planted a little garden each. As a class we worked brainstormed how to care for our plants, and took turns at watering them. The children enjoyed watching them grow.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? There was discussions around what seeds grew into which vegetables. It was hard as we lost many of the little tags, or they got wet so we didn't know what was growing.
Thanks School Kit for the Little Gardens. This is the second time I have done this with a class. The kids enjoyed it.

Children loved being part of the club and growing their own seeds and taking them home.
