What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We are a Garden To Table school so children were able to make links with their work in the garden and the cooking they have done so far using the vegetables from the garden. In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Not specifically - they had done some cooking with vegetables previously with our release teacher using vegetables from the school garden so have a growing awareness of eating healthy.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Children have been active in our school garden so knew quite a few vegetables already. Others had already done Little Gardens before so were quite knowledgable and enjoyed sharing this with others
Children loved the kits and had a great time planting them and watching them grow. In hindsight I would have left the kit to the beginning of Term 4 so we could get more involved in watching them grow, measuring/ comparing etc. Cost of vegetables at the moment not helpful either so growing a great way to introduce children to helping themselves. Always the few who don't have success!

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It was great to get children using the te reo names for vegetables and also for identifying some of the less familiar vegetables.
This was a fabulous resource that provided engaging, hands-on learning for our tamariki. We loved being members of the secret club, solving code crackers, playing the games, learning about plants and of course planting and taking care of our little garden seedlings. It has sparked so much enthusiasm for growing and protecting plants that we now have a rather large group of children who enjoy spending their lunchtimes helping in our school garden- planting, waters and weeding of course. We are very much looking forward to tasting some of our produce in the near future!

The secret club just topped it off, they were so proud to wear the badge and keep it a secret and even whanau got involved. Thanks for another wonderful kit!
