How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? I was surprised at the lack of vegetable knowledge my students had at the beginning of this unit. As a result of this unit, students had a greater ability to identify vegetables.
The tamariki thoroughly enjoyed the Little Garden kit this year. There was so much learning for our students. The science of planting a seed and what nutrients are needed in soil to grow food. Students were delighted to see their seeds germinate! There were plenty of cross curricular links to Health, well-being and our conceptual understanding.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The Vege Patch Match game was really great with fun vegetable characters to identify. The sepia poster was not as effective.
Thank you for this great little kit. A small group of students were selected to be part of the league ,based on social, emotional and engagement reasons. They all bought into the Secret Club scenario with the help of the principal, office manager and teacher. The secret coded messages were just the right level for the students and the time we had available for league meetings. They felt very special. All were excited to take their seedlings home to plant in their own gardens. Some were planted in the school vege gardens.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? A good impact. Some of the children had not heard of some of the plants. By the end of our time all children's knowledge had grown.
The parcel arrived and it was opened. The different plants, the bunting and the badges drew lots of oohhs! and ahhhs! from my Yr 1 students. We had an afternoon planting session which was a great hit! The plants stayed in our class for a couple of weeks with the children taking turns spraying each plant with water. Once the plants had taken off, we planted them out into our class garden. The children were able to observe the plants growing, or in some cases, not! It provided good discussion about why some plants were growing well and why some did not. A great kit! Thanks so much SchoolKit!

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The game was really good The kids liked it and it did help with knowing the vegetables names but we didn't get a couple of the vegetable plants in the kit and these were the names we were not as good at. The Swede and Borage if I remember correctly.
This kit was awesome the plants and the resources that were send had a purpose. I have preferred other kits where all instructions were on paper and email, the online component was hard to keep track of sometimes and as much as I tried to use it. Not too sure if I got the replies I expected when I messaged the group/admin but effort was there.

This was not an experience that all of my students had done before, which was awesome they could experience how to plant a vegetable. My students loved the code crackers and learning about each vegetable.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? For the students that aren't exposed to different vegetables and healthy food it hasn't had the overall impact yet.
