How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This was a little slower to learn as we have lost a few of the name tags and had to wait until they had grown lots before we knew what they where.
The Little Garden is such an engaging kit for the students. My class enjoyed the secret codes and club, but most of all they took so much care tending to the plants. I did however as a teacher miss the tray that came with the kit last time as it made watering the plants much easier.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The novelty encouraged tamariki to think about eating different things - and peer influence/pressure helped with this. I know from observing my akonga eating their school lunches (provided by the school) that many have very limited diets - this project wa
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? In time as the vegetables grow this will be useful. We will use things/they will try different tastes. Some of the quicker growing things were surprising - they found the rocket spicey!
We made good use of the planting aspects of the kits. Tamariki really enjoyed the seed sowing and watching the progress of the seedlings and the subsequent transplant into the garden, Lots of opportunities to extend language - which was my goal. My tamariki are the newsest to school and the clubhouse aspect was a bit lost on them.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? There were some vegetables that the students were not familiar with, so this kit was very helpful in terms of bridging that gap. We had some awesome class discussions discovering the new vegetables that were in the kit.
Our classroom of year 3s/4s loved this kit! The students were super engaged. Some students had never grown their own plants/vegetables before, so this was a really awesome experience for all students. The students were super excited to come into class in the mornings, and see how much progress/growth their plants made overnight. Overall this Little Garden Kit was really awesome, and the students loved all the little extras (the badges and the flags/posters for the classroom display).
