The kit with seedling and additional materials were good however I found the website very difficult to navigate. It was not user friendly and often when I tried to go back and find what I was looking for I couldn't.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Our classes are about to cook and make a meal in their groups and have the seniors have even been looking at budgeting.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? they were able to identify most veges via the pictures but there were some that the students didn't recognise.
We did something a little different with our school kit. Seeing as were paired with another class for whanaungatanga as well as working in our school garden (its in a redesign process at the moment and its been blocked off due to our canopy being built) we used our kit to for learning in class with our seniors. We split the two classes into groups and learned about how plants grow, the process they need to grow and so on. Since beginning this little class project our classes now have little seedlings that they take care of, have since decorated their own wooden pots for when they're ready to be replanted and the bond between the juniors and seniors has blossomed.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? No comment at this stage as we haven't eaten any yet.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? A big impact, some had never heard of certain varieties. It was fun looking them up on Google images and finding recipes to use the varieties too.
The kit was very full. The children enjoyed unboxing it and having a sneaky peek at what varieties of veges, and herbs they were going to plant. We found that after planting and watering for several days, we needed to replace the soggy cardboard labels with iceblock sticks. We have since planted some varieties into bigger pots and into our gardens outside our class as the pots were getting too small. The children are yet to try the vegetables and herbs, but I know there will be lots of funny faces and discussion around the smell, look, taste and textures.
