It is a great kid which gives children the opportunity to be responsible for looking after their plants. The found it interesting to look at the different pots and observing how they looked different and are all growing differently.

We enjoyed planting and propagating the seedlings. Just wished we got the kit earlier so they would've grown more by now. It links nicely with our Farmer's Market inquiry topic.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They loved the snap game to help reinforce names and we had to look up what Borage was. The children loved the names associated with the vegetables.
We are loving our class little garden! We were watering from the top and not getting any success so we put them all on a tray and tipped the water onto the tray so it seeped up through the little pot and walaaaaaaaah success! The kids came back from the weekend amazed with how much growth had happened. We've had a couple of accidents but hey it all works out in the end and a couple of kids now have mystery sprouts since someone knocked them over when they were getting a bit of sunlight and the label came out. In about three or four days I will send them home to re-plant. The kids have been so intrigued and engaged. It's a wonderful resource! thank you.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They became more aware of healthy eating and nutrition through discussing different types of vegetables and plants and how they had different nutrients.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They were able to name many of the vegetables.
The kids enjoyed following the instructions and watching their plants grow watering them everyday. We set up a display in the classroom with the posters and plants until they were ready to go home. They learnt to be responsible and water their plant everyday and to follow instructions. We talked healthy eating and growing your own food.

Getting this kit has been wonderful. I have had children from two different classes help to water our seedlings once they hit the tunnel house. Now that they are in the garden I may have to make a roster over who gets to water them.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? There were a lot of unknown vegetables and herbs. It was great to talk about them and their uses.
The box was a lot of fun. The kids like the little extras that came with the pots.
