In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Had this been our focus I feel this would have been effective. I'm certain that had we also done this earlier in the year we would have been able to harvest the vegetables and enjoy them. The popcorn plant sure created a lot of discussion and curiosity!
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Had that been more of a focus I'm certain it would have been effective.
Our year 2 students had a science focus learning about the living world, so the little gardens were a wonderful complement to this. The resources that were provided in addition to the seeds were relevant and engaging. Our students enjoyed planting the seeds, taking care of them and tracking their growth. Thank you for providing such a wonderful opportunity!

The children were so excited about this kit. It sparked a really big interest in planting in our class. We ended up planting bean seeds in plastic bags in the windows and then transferring them to pots. We also planted tomato plants, strawberries, flowers, sunflower seeds etc. The children learnt to take care and responsibility of their plants and how to help them grow. Lots of photos and sharing with the parents.
