What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Math, Science, Literacy - each week we wrote about what we could see, what we thought our little garden may need more of / less of (sun, water), making a diary of the week to week growth. The oral language experience in itself makes this kit a must have!

Many of my children then went on to plant their own seeds and home and share their knowledge with their whanau. In their lunchboxes, they would examine and talk about which veg
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Very effective in learning and identifying vegetables. There were even a couple I myself hadn't heard of before so it was lovely to be learning alongside my tamariki.
The Little Garden Kit is a must have for any classroom! My Year 1 children absolutely loved learning about growing seeds, observing the growth and learning about many different vegetables, many they hadn't tried before. It was lovely to see hear them talking about what they could see, sharing eachothers knowledge about what they might need to thrive, what each vegetable tastes like. As our Little Garden began to thrive, we made comparisons on heights which we all found really exciting. Such a fun and engaging activity. I personally love this kit and am looking forward, hopefully, to revisiting this with my new class this year.
