In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The kits encouraged some of my students to try vegetables that they had never seen before.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The students had lots of fun recognising the vegetables as they were sowing them. A number of my student had never encountered some of them before and we quickly looked them up online to see what they could be used for.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Social Sciences and Science (living world)- jobs in the community, highlighted the vegetable growers around our region, Mathematics - how much vegetables cost to grow versus how much it costs in the supermarkets.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We had many lessons on the importance of vegetables in our diet. We even grew more vegetables in the school garden and have recently eaten lettuce, carrots and broccoli from the garden. Students were quite chuffed that they could grow popcorn.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It was surprised to find out that some of my class could not recognise many of the vegetables on the cards. They were interested to watch the vegetables grow and identify them on the squad card.

“Our class absolutely loved using this kit. They were extremely excited when their vegetables began to sprout. The boys in particular seemed to enjoy measuring the growth of their vegetables and it ended up being quite the competition between mates.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? This term we had a school gala. We grew plants to sell in our stall. We made art work of our vegetables to advertise our plants and learned about adding dollars together in Math.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We didn't get to eat any of the vegetables we grew. However we have a family in our class to own a cafe and they came in and talked to us about all our healthy food options on our menu.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This was mostly student lead. Kids taught each other with their prior knowledge it was fantastic!
