In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We should have planted the little gardens in term 3 as we couldn't finish them off this late in the term to try them out. We could try different veges on the list from the supermarket next year as an extension to this terms garden growing. As the kids did
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Added a lot more interest to planting the gardens and to lifecycle learning too,
Our class really enjoyed the idea of being part of the little gardens club. They were excited when they knew which kit we had and enjoyed starting off and watching their plants grow. They enjoyed the competition of whose plant was growing the best. They learnt about what plants need to grow and learnt a bit about photosynthesis. They enjoyed the badges and drawing the pictures of their plants. They all look forward to watching their plants grow at home. Thank you.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? As well as looking at the food pyramid we talked about processed and natural food and where food comes from. We have a fruit/veg break in the morning and now all students bring some in to eat.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It certainly helped students identify different types of vegetables they hadn't been exposed to and to see what types they like.
My small class of year 0's had a great time learning about the food pyramid and this kit helped with identifying vegetables and learning what plants need to grow. We grew the little gardens in class and then these were taken home to plant as they were getting too big. We also planted many in our school gardens.
